Puente la Reina to Estella

Arrival in Estella......hungry girls.  Pork with croquettes and fries....and a delicious bottle of local red wine.  Alex treated for dessert....brownie with homemade ice cream to share.

Our hostel for the night in Estella, Hosteria de Curtidores, an ancient tanning mill.

By the looks of the moss and algae I’m going to suspect this says don’t drink from this fountain.....or at least I hope so.

Tunnels with excellent acoustics.

Alex ROCKS.

Blackberries and raspberries are all along our paths. I didn’t try these...but they look like blueberries?

A respite in the middle of no where.

“The hills are alive with the sound of music....”

Many medieval bridges and roads.

A very well preserved Roman road.

Lunch compliments of Alex. Yoghurt, bread, salami and cheese.

My wee friends.

Vineyards everywhere. I love it.

Next stop for a short rest.

Grapes and figs

Coffee in the shadow of a huge cathedral.

Puente la Reina famous medieval bridge.

Beginning our day. Feeling pretty good and somewhat ready.

The town sleeps as we leave for Estella.
