Puente la Reina from Pamplona

My photos start with the end of our trek from Pamplona to Puente la Reina....because it was one of the most challenging feats we have ever done. Twelve kilometres up a mountain....and then twelve kilometres to the bottom.  None of which was easy.  Incredible terrane in this area.

Our reward for such an incredible job....Seafood Paela  and delicious white wine dinner...with Joan, another pilgrim walking the Camino.

The last twelve kilometres was mostly tons of loose rocks and a very steep descent.

A stone circle tribute to the victims of Francisco Franco, a dictator during a 40 year span in Spain.

Down 12 kilometres from here......yikes.

Puerto del Perdon at the very top with the windmills.

We made it to the top....wow.

One foot after another. A tough climb. In some areas it is a goat path....tiny and very narrow.

The photos do not do justice to the magnificent views.

Meeting pilgrims from all over the world.  On our first day we met people from Poland, Ireland, Spain, USA, Brazil.

Sunflower season is done.  There are so many fields of them....it would have been incredibly gorgeous.  Now they go to sleep  until next year.

We are looking pretty good here.....10,000 steps under our belts and it’s only 10am. Just 35,000 left to go.....

One step at a time....and follow the Camino markers.  It’s a gorgeous day......for a wee walk.
